You may be thinking about your brand photoshoot or already have it scheduled in, which is super exciting! It’s now time to plan out your shoot for success; if you haven’t already, check out this blog posts for shoot planning ideas – https://www.nicolepas.com/planning-your-branding-photoshoot-for-success/. Today we are specifically looking at prop ideas for your brand shoot.

Props are typically used to add character, to tell a story and highlight what you do and why.

It’s important to select props that are relevant to what you do, your industry, that represent who you are and that really make sense to your audience. Let me paint a picture for you… imagine you see a photo of a business owner and it’s just them with nothing surrounding them, how would you relate to that? It doesn’t make any sense does it? It doesn’t tell a story about them, what they do and who they serve.

Now that we have got a clear idea of what props are and how they enhance the photographs let’s get brainstorming about what props you could use in your photoshoot.

I’ve listed out 20 prop ideas for your next brand shoot and finished off with some prompts to start brainstorming some ideas of your own.

  2. Diary / Journal

Now it’s time to get brainstorming! Grab a pen, paper and write out your responses to these questions.

Think about your rituals at work/home; what are the must-have items for these practices?

What items do you use every day that you can’t live without?

What are some things that you use with your clients every day?

Your favourite items in your office / workspace?
